Vicky this is gorgeous! I love your water paintings. Your blog is looking great!
Welcome to blogging, Victoria! This looks great, and the diptych banner is a knock-out!
I’ll talk to you more later.
Victoria, Your pastels are very beautiful. I enjoy looking at your web site, and your new blog.

You made what appears to be a regular ol’ canal look so peaceful and quite beautiful.
Hi Victoria; I love your new oils, spectacular! Your new website is even more terrific than the old one, which inspires me. I love painting water too, but the way you handled that ordinary irrigation ditch-wow.
One lesson that I take away from this pastel, and your other pastels, is that they have a deceptive simplicity. It’s easy to overlook that the shadows in the water balance the far mountain range, the foreground grasses are repeated in the shape of the flowery bush and the middle mountain range on the left, and the high-flying flowers in front are echoed by the plant in the background. I could go on… I enjoy looking at them. Thanks.
Thank you for the thoughtful comment Bob. It is always interesting to get feedback about these formal elements that seem to come to us inately. I really appreciate it.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure Sara does know that Zen is gone. When I lost my yellow lab his sister kitty, Blackie, knew and grieved with me. My lab had also been adopted and he had distemper when he came to me. It was worth the fight to have him for 14 wonderful years. Wishing you well…. Patty
Congratulations, Victoria. The exhibit looks lovely. I especially like the one with the birch trees in the snow.
Thanks Patrice!
Victoria, I LOVE your work. I know absolutely nothing about pastel technique since I’m a fine art and commercial photographer. I think you and I see and capture similar moods. Here is a very small selection of my Delta work: http://www.turnerphoto.com/delta_habitat/
My challenge now is finding art consultants and venues to contract with. Here is a look at some recent corporate installations: http://www.turnerphoto.com//Art_Installations/
I found you on LinkedIn. May I invite you to connect?
Thanks for reading this far. –Rich Turner

Thanks Sue. Yep, that’s where I got my computer actually. Those kids have spent many hours in my office. I think I may be getting a handle on it amazingly. But ya never know, this may be a temporary fix.
Hi: As a Painter of the Arizona Desert Landscape I very seldom focus on “Water” but I’ve found myself several times returning to study this Painting of yours.I am amazed at the flow of Water among River Rocks. A great effort. My encouragement is offered to you.Have a Happy day,John Harmon
Thank you John. I’ve had a good response to this painting. It was one of those pieces that in the process of painting I got lost in the abstraction of the color, light and movement. That it pulled together as a composition was a nice conclusion.
i am honored and touched by your recognition, victoria. what a sweetie you are.
I am sorry to read of your loss. My dog died at age 12 on Mother’s Day this year, and his “little sister” Abbey still looks for him by where his crate used to be.
came here by wqay of Sue…incrediblew work, will be back. I grew up in San Francisco and so miss the Norther Californai climeate and way of life. It is like riding 101 north….
I love “Sunlit Bungalow”! Have a great show this weekend! I will be thinking of you.
Hello Vicky – Your ork is as beautiful as ever. Are you currently showing anywhere? Could I bring a friend over to possibly buy a piece.
Thanks! Rene’ Imperiale-Egan 707-845-0409
Congratulations! I am so happy it was a success for you!
Congratulations. I feel gratified since I commented a while back on the center pastel, Winter Wildflowers. I love the vivid strength of your paintings.
I hope you don’t mind but I got kicked out before I could leave my website.
Thanks! I appreciate that!
Victoria, thank you so much for commenting on our blog at Meylah. Your work is absolutely breathtaking. It reminds me of so many incredible places, like the wine country in the Russian River Valley (one of my favorite places on earth) as well as my great grandfather’s farm. Thanks again & we hope to see you back at Meylah again soon!
Oh, these are gorgeous! What fabulous additions to these rooms. I’m so jealous of these homeowners–I’d love to have a Victoria Ryan original in my home.
Oh, do I love your work!
Please add me to your mailing list, and also let me know if you are ever in Santa Barbara, or Southeast Utah!
Stunning…

Thank you Victoria for the Open Studio Workshop tonight. You have amazing talent, are a wealth of knowledge and I can’t wait to meet up again.
I just saw you work at the Swell Gallery during Arts Alive. Wow! Are you still giving art instruction, either individual or group, in pastels? I have taken 2 pastel workshops with Stephanie Birdsall, but I now live in Eureka, and seek further instruction.
